Our centre is equipped with Metaltronica Flat SE paired with Agfa CR30 XM Digital Mammography module for high resolution accurate Digital Mammography The procedure is done by Dr.Hema Girija Shankar a specialist who has done her Ph.D. in Breast Cancer Screening. Reports interpreted with Women cancer screening specialist Dr.Revathi Ananth M.D.D.G.O. Ph.D.

To help minimize discomfort during mammography, schedule your mammogram one week after your period (when breasts are less tender).

  • No Mammogram or X ray for pregnant women
  • Bring your previous mammogram report with you on day of appointment.
  • On the day of the examination, do not apply talcum powder, deodorant, lotion or perfume under your arms or on your breasts. These substances can cause artifacts on your mammogram.
  • Wear an easily removable outfit, any jewellery worn (especially earrings or necklaces) should be easily and quickly removable.
  • Any breast symptoms or problems that a woman is experiencing should be described to the technologist performing the examination. A woman should also be prepared to discuss with the mammography technologist any pertinent history: prior surgeries, hormone use, family or personal history of breast cancer. Prior to mammography a woman should also discuss any new findings or problems in her breasts with her clinician.
